The art of drum making is a ceremony.

It is an initiation into embodying the voice we are given and the voice of Mother Earth. It has a life of its own and delivers unique lessons, messages and challenges for each person. It is a rite of passage into the self that is calling us. It is reclamation of our destiny as we step into the unfolding of our own great story.

This offering is for those who hear the call of the drum; who long to connect with the Earth and be a channel for the Divine; who have a heart for healing; who simply desire to sing and drum more; and for those who are ready to claim their voice.

Drumming and singing is the most ancient technology to achieve states of high consciousness where deep healing and transformation happens, wisdom is received and life force replenished.

For me this ceremony is inseparable from our unique song. It is all about being a channel for our voice to fulfill its purpose - expressing the divine we are made of. It is to remember our birthright - our undeniable belonging to this Earth and to honor her will for us.

In this all day workshop we will hold a ceremony where we craft our medicine drums with intention and reverence to the process of death and birthing anew. In our safe container we will create beauty, listen to what wants to come through us and weave our prayers and voices together. At the end of our full day ceremony, we will take our cherished drums home with us, and commit to the practice of intentionally communing with the elemental forces in the context of channeling divine music.

This is an invitation into exploration and experience of “Shabda Brahma” - the Word that is Creator as well as Naad Yoga - yoga of sound.

The journey we embark on starts with the breath and takes us all the way to our limitless potential. We will experience the healing ability of this in-built musical instrument we all have; and discover how to utilize our own voice as a tool to remember our oneness with all, and receive divine wisdom that is personal and transformational.

The joy of singing and sounding together and how it activates divine love and devotion inside of us is the fountain of youth. Allowing and creating space to connect to the divine makes a most joyful and vibrant tribe.

Sema Rae

Sema Rae is a Songstress and temple artist from the Aegean Coast of Turkey. Deeply connected to the Earth wisdom of her Motherland, she has traveled the world for the past 14 years studying and drawing upon a multitude of sound and ritual movement practices. These lineages include, Nepalese Sound Healing, Yoga, Drum Medicine and SheDance from Thailand. Through transformational events, retreats and workshops, Sema teaches vocal empowerment, holds containers of authentic expression and gives the gift of song.

Her unique sound is inspired by her foundation in healing and devotional world music, channeling mantras and medicine songs. Her poetic story-telling is laced with angelic vocals, bringing codes of light from above. Her first single 'SitaRam' was released earlier this year, with more to come soon.

The art of drum making is a ceremony. It is an initiation into embodying the voice we are given and the voice of Mother Earth.
It has a life of its own and delivers unique lessons, messages and challenges for each person. It is a rite of passage into the self that is calling us. It is reclamation of our destiny as we step into the unfolding of our own great story.

This offering is for those who hear the call of the drum; who long to connect with the Earth and be a channel for the Divine; who have a heart for healing; who simply desire to sing and drum more; and for those who know it is time to activate the voice.
Drumming and singing is the most ancient technology to achieve states of high consciousness where deep healing and transformation happens, wisdom is received and life force replenished.

For me this ceremony is inseparable from our unique song. It is all about being a channel for our voice to fulfill its purpose - expressing the divine we are made of. It is to remember our birthright - our undeniable belonging to this Earth and to honor her will for us.

In this all day workshop we will hold a ceremony where we craft our medicine drums with intention and reverence to the process of giving and attaining new life after death. In our safe container we will create beauty, listen to what wants to come through us and weave our prayers and voices together. 

At the end of our full day ceremony, we will take our cherished drums home with us, and commit to the practice of intentionally communing with the elemental forces in the context of channeling divine music.

•    Please have breakfast before arriving, we are going to need strength!

What to bring:
•    a towel you do not mind getting dirty
•    large hole beads if you have a specific crystal you want to work with - Not necessary. I will have a selection for you to choose from.
•    lunch and snacks - There will be a lunch break to eat what we brought for lunch. We will have light snacks available but feel free to bring whatever else you would like to snack on throughout the day.
•    whatever else you might need to be comfortable for the whole day

It's a beautiful nature and animal sanctuary tucked away in the mountains of Leicester, and will be the beautiful backdrop to an evening of heart-felt acoustic music by Noah Proudfoot and friends, as well as musical medicine from Turkish songstress and sound healer, Sema Rae.

This show is the 5th stop on Noah Proudfoot's Kickstarter tour, raising funds for his new album, titled 'Born to Fly' - an album intended to lift the spirits of humanity and empower hearts and minds through positive songwriting and colorful compositions.

So come bring a blanket and enjoy the peaceful oasis of Franny's Farm, to the soundscape of joyful acoustic melodies.

Enjoy an intimate evening of heartfelt music by Noah Proudfoot and friends.

Asheville songwriter, Noah Proudfoot, is excited to return to the stage to share brand new music from his third studio album! With support from local musicians, the evening will be an intimate journey of storytelling, spanning multiple genres and culminating in a full band performance.

In the six years since his last EP release with the Botanicals, Noah has been hard at work studying recording and music production- lending itself to a wider expression of nuance and musicality. With songs ranging from folk-tronica to world music, the forthcoming album will showcase the largest and most diverse body of songs Noah has yet to release.

With help from musical collaborators such as percussionist, Ben Stockdale, vocalist Cicada Evergreen, and bassist Brennan Dugan- the new CD echoes the soulful harmonies of the last album, while making new forays into soundscapes that evoke scenes from the misty jungles of South America. The Kickstarter campaign is key in making these dreams and visions possible, providing the support to pay artists and local collaborators to play a part in the album making process.

The launch show will take place at Weaving Rainbows, an indigenous arts & crafts store in downtown Asheville, that supports the work of native artists from all over the world. Noah has been sharing Kirtan there every Tuesday evening with his fiancè, Sema Rae, who will also be sharing her voice and songs at the show.

As a thank you, everyone who attends will receive a free copy of the new album. Habibi Village will be onsite, selling their delicious Lebanese crèpes. The evening promises to be a captivating journey of songs, stories, and collaboration.
